So plans for anime supercon have changed a bit. I'm staying for the weekend, along with

Costume-wise, Grell won't get finished But I'm borrowing a black trenchcoat from Laura to be his first outfit when he reveals himself I'm glad because being Grell will be fun~

I also went to a thrift store and bought a black dress for my Umbreon cosplay. It might actually be finished since it's a pretty simple costume.
I'm officially in love with thrift stores~ they're so cheap so you don't feel bad about buying something just to rip it up for a costume XD I need to go to a bigger one to find myself a pair of boots... curse my big feet

I will be Lelouch for the rest of the time


I'm thinking about having a cosplay picnic in the winter months since there won't be another con in south Florida for awhile~ we'll see how that works out ^^ Are any of you interested? Can you suggest a park or somewhere to hold it?

OMG I REACHED 10,000 PVs AND I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE
Ok, that's enough of that.

Before I get into other stuff, my new school is awesome. I never wanna go back to normal high school, I feel so free and trusted at the College Academy that I now realize how oppressive and stressful high school can be. No WONDER so many fresh college kids go crazy and flunk their first year, the sudden change is... liberating. If you live in South Florida and are invited the the College Academy, I would definitely recommend it.
On a not so serious note- FAU's pizza pretzel and boca burger are TEH LEET

So Dragon*Con was pretty awesome! I didn't make it to a lot of panels though Sometimes I wish to just go in normal clothes so I can get everywhere easier XD But then I feel too normal standing next to Darth Vader or a Steampunk Pirate on the crosswalks

For those of you that don't know, D*C is a 4 day all-genre con that literally takes over downtown Atlanta, GA, taking up 4 hotels and filling every street and restaurant with people in ridiculous costumes XD

Costumes of note I saw: full scale Aku (Samurai Jack), Bumble Bee (Transformers), Chibi Chewbacca (Star Wars), Cardboard Chewbacca (Star Wars), Spartans (300), Some awesome scuba suit with a working giant drill (Bioshock), Grell that I didn't get a picture of DDDDX (kuroshitsuji)
Of course there will be pictures~

Famous People I saw/talked to:
Alessandro Juliani - voice of L, he was really nice, but he seemed really mellow too XD He signed my poster which Brad Swaile (Light) already signed, and got mad (as a joke) that he used the fancy L to spell Light... so he signed on Light's face and put a scar on his cheek LMFAO
Vic Mignogna - didn't really talk to him, his table was always full, but he MCed the cosplay contest which I entered in with my Haruhi Suzumiya costume ^^ Didn't win anything though
Leonard Nimoy aka SPOCK - he still looks like Spock even though he's oooooold LOL he read a beautiful poem he wrote in his book during the awards banquet Dawww vulcans are poets XDD
William Shatner aka Captain Kirk - Only saw him sit down at dinner with a funny hat on xD if he was trying to avoid attention, he failed, because his old-man sun hat was pretty noticable XD Him and Nimoy kept going at each other with jokes during the speeches LOL
Adam Savage the Mythbusters dude - one of the few panels I went to. He read his list of 100 wishes he randomly wrote on note cards xD
Tom Felton aka Malfoy - a friend I made at a con kinda just... stood and watched him at his table and listened to his awesome british accent

There were like over 400 guests but these are the only ones I can remember xD Lots were from tv shows I don't watch

Things I Did:
The most important thing to me that weekend was the GWR Thriller attempt to break the current world record of most people dancing it at once... the total was 903!! I was a team captain that helped teach the dance to a group before we did the final attempt. Some people sought me out after all the captains did a demo to the noobies and said they wanted me to teach them because they thought I did the best~ I was really touched! I felt really accomplished and a part of something big to be able to teach those people and then dance with hundreds of others, people that depended on me in case they got lost on the moves in the middle

There was this band called ArcAttack that made music with two huge Tesla Coils. SO. FRIGGIN. EPIC.

Of course it was much more epic in person because you can feel the music, and almost feel the electricity. The lights in the room pulsed a bit because the coils were using so much energy xD bet that racked up the bill for the hotel... also the floor started moving a bit when people jumped, it was kinda scary
This was during the "Mad Scientist's Annual Bake Sale and Recruiting Ball" btw

Cosplay Contest on saturday, I entered my Haruhi costume. I really thought I would win something because the judges seemed to like my costume a lot during prejudging... but oh well. Everyone that won deserved it the Pyramid Head behind me in line was very nice and he said he actually used to live in south florida XD how ironic. First contest I've been to that ran THAT smoothly I wish supercon could get their act down like they did! Maybe I could give em some tips xD Basically you didn't have to wait in line for judging as long because they gave you a time slot to come back after you filled out your initial paper. Also there were 2 papers, one for the person to announce your cosplay on stage, and one for the judges to look over. They were very strict in turning you back if you were late for your time slot though poor Lelouch didn't get to enter!

I'm doing this backwards, but friday I went to a Death Note + Naruto + Bleach photoshoot/gathering! I met up with some friends from last D*C and met some new ones~ we got some awesome pictures too, will post sooooon

So now I've sufficiently spammed everyone's deviation boxes with our newest cosplay pictures, it's time for me to update my journal before school begins~

This is the first time I've actually been kind of excited for school to start, because this year I'll be going to the College Academy. Basically, I'm starting my junior year in high school and my freshman year in college at the same time. I have no idea what to expect! But so far, I'm so thankful I did it. The most recent payoff is that I don't have to do the huge summer assignment for English that was given at my old school Also, I'm receiving about $2000 of free education this semester My parents are thrilled about that XDD
~JisatsuSama was actually in my group for the orientation on friday. I recognized him as Axel from cons and we wasted away the MANY hours in line talking about random crap. ~MishaSu and ~HonooMizu are also going to the school. I'm glad I'll have some friends to talk to about anime and cosplay and all that jazz~

ANYWAY although I'm excited about my new school, IT SUCKS SO MUCH THAT SUMMER IS OVER. I'm gonna miss hanging out with my friends at my old school A LOT. But hopefully I can sneak back on Fridays to the anime club

Lotsa people are talking about MizuCon right now... I really won't know if I'm going until a few days beforehand. But if I can, I will go on Saturday as Lelouch ^^

Cosplay progress wise, I'm working on Grell right now! But I'm... unmotivated because his coat is going to give me hell, so I don't even feel like making it right now BUT I started work on the chainsaw with some foam and plexiglass and it already looks badass... GAH I can't wait to be him! >D

There's a festival coming this weekend at the Morikami Japanese Gardens. It's not anime related, it's a traditional japanese festical. I went last year and it was very relaxing (except I didn't drink enough and almost passed out from dehydration note to self...)
