Artist's CommentsStartled from a vertical nap at his computer desk, Ryuzaki sat trying to figure out what he was hearing. The rain pattering against the metal door made it difficult to distinguish noises, he concentrated to sift out every sound. There it was again. A plaintive cry coming from outside. His hand found the button without taking his eyes away from the door. "Watari." He detached from the shadows of a hallway. "There is someone outside," Ryuzaki said as he rolled his chair behind a wall. A precaution to protect his identity. The sound of rain increased briefly as Watari opened the door, but then faded again as it closed without a word. Ryuzaki peered around the wall to see a dripping mass of fur in Watari's arms, making a sound that threatened to melt his heart. "It is a stray kitten, Ryuzaki." He got up and approached the kitten, eyes unblinking and filled with curiosity. He looked down at the puddle slowly growing around Watari's feet, and reached for the towel near his abandoned snacks. He gestured to put the kitten in the towel. Tenderly, he stroked it with the towel as it fell asleep in his arms. "Can we keep it?" "Whatever you wish." Watari responded as he disappeared to dry off his damp arms. Carefully returning to his computer chair so he wouldn't disturb the kitten wrapped in his arms, he was reminded of his time as an orphan, cold and alone. He laid a finger on the kitten's nose. "You were Hitori. Now we are Tomodomoni." Totally just wrote that spur of the moment... a little story popped into my head when I was resizing this picture XD Hope you like it ^^ Hitori means alone Tomodomoni means together Death Note (c) Ohba and Obata |
